Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults succeed periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
