'People are afraid' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal are now numerous fans' top picks to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their results against Fulham and Crystal Palace compared to those same matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have beaten all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race last season.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title ambition.

They stand first for clean sheets (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), shots on target faced (19) and xGA (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the finest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but rival sides still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals aren't faring so well. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the strongest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have described Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and resolve.
